Stop bringing this up, because he asked for forgiveness (?) – Part 1
Question from one devotee to Srila Baba Maharaj:
B.G. Nṛsiṁha Mahārāja writes in his article “Society Consciousness vs. Kṛṣṇa Consciousness”:
“In his final days before his departure Śrīla Prabhupāda [Swami Maharaj] called for his godbrothers and sent a message to all that “the war is over” and he compelled everyone to work together and in harmony to spread Kṛṣṇa Consciousness.
Śrīla Prabhupāda [Swami Maharaj] also established the Bhaktivedānta Charitable Trust in 1977 for the purpose of working in harmony with the Gauḍīya Maṭha institutions of his godbrothers. Śrīpāda Bhakti Dayita Mādhava Mahārāj of Śrī Caitanya Gauḍīya Maṭha was made the first president of the trust and among the first duties of the trust was the work of financing the completion (construction) of Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāj’s maṭha in Navadvipa.”
Also, I know that there were messengers that visited all Gauḍīya Maṭhs (maybe other institutions also) in different dhāmas on behalf of Svāmī Mahārāja with the message of apology.
We know that the apology was not perfect because the effects of offenses were not cleaned up. But is it possible to ask apology through a messenger if someone is unable to travel personally due to vicinity to death?
Answer by Srila Baba Maharaj:
The far-reaching consequence of Vaiṣṇava-aparādha is beyond human comprehension, because, knowingly or unknowingly done, Vaiṣṇava-aparādha cannot give any respite. One has to suffer for that according to the intensity of the offence done. Without following the exact way of scriptural advice about how to get excuse, one can never get any excuse—simply by verbal declaration that— “The war is over, so please excuse me”.
Honorable B.G. Nṛsiṁha Mahārāja was very very lucky to get the divine association of those great exalted Prabhupāda parṣadas like Śrīla Bhakti Rakṣaka Śrīdhara Deva Gosvāmī Mahārāja, Śrīla Bhakti Pramoda Purī Gosvāmī Mahārāja, Śrīla Bhakti Hṛdaya Bon Gosvāmī Mahārāja etc. and other exalted devotees to get the power through Bhagavata-paramparā line, so he was very sorry in true sense for what happened before in our bhajana line, so he was always ready to find out a mutually acceptable solution to those offences done against Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha and those exalted devotees of Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha, but really it is next to impossible. The following scriptural siddhānta-vicāra projected by Śrīla Bhakti Vedānta Vāmana Gosvāmī Mahārāja under the strict guidance of our Gauḍīya Guru-varga is so important that this can never be overlooked by anybody anyway.
Śrīla Bhakti Vedānta Vāmana Gosvāmī Mahārāja said that— “Just saying the word ‘sorry’ does not mean apologizing. In reality, without feeling great remorse within, the living entity's heart cannot be purified. The fire of repentance can free the seeker from all sins and offences by burning all the mistakes and distractions to ashes in a single moment. This is indeed ‘begging for forgiveness.’”
Who, how, why and when started war (fighting) so that at all the question of ceasefire (a stoppage of a war) can arise? After providing kick on the head (or by beating with capal) of a great exalted sadhu of the Supreme Lord, if now someone likes to give donation of cow, then can it be accepted as excuse? The following scriptural judgments should be accepted very analytically to realize the gravity of such great Vaiṣṇava-aparādhās done by Śrīla Bhakti Vedānta Svāmī Mahārāja. After taking the undue advantage of all the power given by The Prabhupāda (or simply by misusing the divya-jñāna available in Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha), how best possible way he wanted to collect lābha-pūjā-pratiṣṭhā etc. etc. to reach the peak point of the pratiṣṭhā mountain. Now after all the purposes or the targets being fulfilled in his life, at last also he wanted to ensure his material pratiṣṭhā forever by playing a role of begging for pardon to Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha and all those exalted devotees of Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha. Really very fantastic plan and program, but the Supreme Lord is sitting inside the heart of everybody as Paramātmā, He can arrest him immediately. Later on, all of his drama of begging for apology in front of Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha and all the exalted devotees of Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha or opening a financial charitable trust in the year 1977 named Bhaktivedanta Charitable Trust for the purpose of working in harmony with the Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha institutions of his Godbrothers for their financial support etc. all are nothing but joking, because really it is a matter of great fun to find the absolute solution of those fearful-offenses that way.
This is the nature of pure Vaiṣṇavas, that they never try to find any faults with others, they never count any fault done by others on them, because they always like to overlook such offences on them done by anybody, rather as Paramaḥaṁsa Vaiṣṇavas they always try to glorify them.
