All glories to Śrī Śrī Guru–Gaurāṅga

The hidden treasure of śāstra or mahāt-vāṇī (I mean the advice of any mahābhāgavata vaiṣṇava)—not very easy for us to realize (Part 2)

(Even if Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda going to appear

before us today, then surely most of us cannot even recognize him)

Date: 19.12.2025

Gauḍīya Goṣṭhī-pati Śrī Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda Paramahaṁsa Jagad-guru used to put one caution in front of us to save us from inevitable maya that— “Everything seems alright to those unmindful of the tidings of the internal reality, who cannot enter into its highly subtle understanding. An ignorant boy may claim that his illegible script has meaning because that of an intelligent person has meaning; and one who does not regard scrawl and meaningful writing as equal will be accused of sectarianism or partiality by the foolish. If we appeal to popularists who have no comprehension of Hari, Hari-kathā, or satya-siddhānta, they will say that to promote genuine siddhānta is sectarian and to refute asat-siddhānta is blasphemy. They think, “When we know nothing, better to cook the accounts by calling everything equal. In this way everyone will stay satisfied and there will be no mutual bad feelings.” But truth and falsehood, devotion and non-devotion, can never be one. Persons devoid of devotional sentiment, who feel no necessity to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who do not want actual benefit, who consider sensual enjoyment and fame desirable, will adjudge contaminated and pure as one.”

At present it is very very clear that our devotional society has come to such a low level that even we cannot imagine. Everybody running after sweet speeches or spiritual entertainment or some mixing procedure etc. How common people can approach the path of pure bhakti, whereas it seems to be like oil massage. Those common people they only want something easy and comfortable (I mean not troublesome) which all are suitable for their material body and mind. This kind of “oil-massage type of religion” at present going on everywhere all around the world in the name of devotional practice. So long as one speaker going to follow the sahajiyā procedure of oil massage type to add fuel to our material ego with sweet words, than we are ready to accept him as a pure devotee, but as soon a pure devotee starting to speak about that Absolute Truth (naked truth) than we like to fly away like birds flying from a burning forest.

Svāmī Sadānanda Dāsa used to say that— “If I had noticed that Caitanyadeva’s appearance day had been celebrated in the heart of the surrounding world today, if ever so little, I would have been so grateful. It seems as if the animosity in the heart of the world, even the unconscious, is directed towards Caitanyadeva and Kṛṣṇa, without touching Them — whereas it pierces the bodies of the unfortunate bhaktas who still persevere in this world. Kṛṣṇa and Caitanya, with Their rejection of everything, everything that man values, cannot have any scope in this world, and the world’s hate must be directed towards the bhakta, also when he remains silent. The rich and the poor, both feel the reproach in the bhakta’s eyes; his mere presence makes them flee like birds fleeing a burning forest.” (Letter from Calcutta 1952)

The Prabhupāda always wanted to expose these kinds of distorted representation of bhakti-siddhānta-vāṇī. Most of the people they do not actually want ‘The Absolute Truth’, rather they want to follow the sahajiyā procedure which is like a charming illusion nicely oiled so that no irritation can at all arise in the way of their sahajiyā bhakti. Their plan is like an useless dream which can never come true, because this is not at all the procedure of Bhagavad-bhakti in true sense. Like those blue jackals they like to get together in the name of satsaṅga to get more and more inspiration to collect their personal lābha-pūjā-pratiṣṭhā. But remember in the assembly of jackals only one camel can take the āsana of a singer (I mean the post of sabāpati or president), anyway out of their dirty mutual understanding they like to show that we are all one family. They eagerly quote—

“satyam brūyāt, priyam brūyāt…”

“Speak the truth—but speak it pleasantly.”

But for those conditioned souls—whose taste is already polluted, for them the Absolute Truth is bitter. To demand only pleasant truth is like expecting a doctor to cure cancer with sesame oil. A growing tumour cannot disappear only by gentle rubbing. Therefore the pure sādhu surely cannot hide the Absolute Truth to deprive us. People always expecting the soft touch of an oil-masseur—and they never try to get absolute benefit, that is the most vital problem for which they are always deprived.

uttiṣṭhata jāgrata prāpya varān nibodhata |

kṣurasya dhārā niśitā duratyayā

durgaṁ pathas tat kavayo vadanti ||

“Arise! Awake! Having approached the great realised souls—why not ready to accept the awaited boons to get inspiration to know the Absolute Truth (why lying like a dead body)? The path of the Absolut is like a sharp razor’s edge—very difficult to cross, saying those wise sādhus.”

To avoid speaking “unpleasant truth” in the name of politeness is the same as refusing to treat a patient simply because he can scream during surgery. What appears harsh externally is actually mercy and what appears as pleasing apparently is nothing else than betray or cheating. Therefore, the real followers of Mahāprabhu do not practice some kind of oil-massage type of religious practice, rather they embrace the sharp Absolute truth at any cost. Anyway lābha-pūjā-pratiṣṭhā for them is like stool and urine and nothing else.

At present we can clearly see that most of those present ācāryas hide their face behind the veil like shy ladies whenever they come across with the question of the protection and preservation of the divine  Gauḍīya sampradāik vāṇī-vaibhava as a whole. Otherwise why should they fear to speak about that absolute truth absolute way. To protect that absolute truth some divine śakti must be present inside heart, otherwise one can never speak about that absolute truth fearlessly. That’s why it is said in Vaiṣṇava Ke, the poetry written by The Prabhupāda—

vraja-basi-gana pracharaka dhana

pratiṣṭhā-bhiksuka tara nahe saba

prana achhe tara se hetu prachara

pratiṣṭhāsa-hina-Kṛṣṇa-gatha saba           (Vaiṣṇava Ke, verse 18)

The most valuable treasures amongst the Lord’s preachers are the eternal personalities residing in Vraja-dhām. They never occupy themselves with begging for worthless material reputation, which is cherished only by a living dead body. The vraja-vāsis are truly infused with life, and therefore they preach in order to give life to the walking corpses of the mundane world. All the songs that the vraja-vāsis sing about the glories of Lord Kṛṣṇa are devoid of any tinge of desire for fame.

We all know that the sacred divine aprakṛta body of Śrīla Gaura Kiśora dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja was only touched by Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda, because only he was the fittest person who possessed the required purity. He was absolutely free of lābha-pūjā-pratiṣṭhā. Similarly we would like to say that at present also a very few of them have the divine purity and aprakṛta courage (the full backing of Nityānanda-Balārāma) to touch all those extremely sensitive and delicate topics in regards to the protection and preservation of the divine dignity of Sarasvata Gauḍīya sampradya (or Bhaktivinoda-dhārā) as a whole. Most of those so-called modern ācāryas at present—they also only want to misuse that sacred body of the aprakṛta vāṇī-vaibhava for their dirty self-interest, just as all those sahajiyās who wanted to capture the body of Śrīla Gaura Kiśora dāsa Bābājī for their own dirty selfish ends.

Even if Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda going to appear before us today, then surely most of us cannot even recognize him. Not only that, but also being blinded by our own desire for lābha-pūjā-pratiṣṭhā, we are 100% ready to kick him out from the back doors of our maṭha-maṇḍiras, because we surely cannot harmonise with his uncompromising preaching of śuddha-bhakti. That is the painful condition at present.

Śrīla Saccidānanda Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura wrote in his article named ‘Sampradāya-praṇālī’ that— “It is the duty of those genuine intelligent personalities to try to purify the sampradāya by joining the sampradāya. Good products are not always available in the market and it may be necessary to reform the market seeing many kinds of adulteration going on—but by meaning this, if somebody wants to completely wash out or remove the marketing system then in that case—I can never appreciate the intellect of such a person. The first phase ācāryas of the sampradāyas have created the sampradāyas to arrange maṅgala for the world. If the sampradāya is driven away by the efforts of those modern cowards, then where is the maṅgala? Some foreign personalities who consider themselves as paṇḍitas (scholars) have said that those first phase ācāryas, getting driven by material self-interest, established the sampradāyas. This is absolutely disrespectful. Did those great previous maharṣis transcribe the roots of sampradāya within their own texts to increase their fame and money? Those who ate only fruits and roots in a secluded kuṭīra (hut) and have transcribed all their sacred siddhāntas for the welfare of the jīvas, how can there be material self-interest within them? Many among them did not even mention their names in the books written by them. Hence it is assured that desire for fame was not there in their heart.”

Similarly at present also such utterly nonsense is going on in the name of sampradāya system. Just recently we came across with a comment that Śrīla Bābā Mahārāja has opened a new sampradāya and that he is envious to all those international Ācāryas like Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Svāmī Mahārāja and Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja. In reply to this baseless allegation only we can say that— “You should be given a gold medal for this kind of amazing & fantastic remark.” Really you are very intelligent. Yes, you are right. Śyāma Bābā is envious, and so that is why he always likes to avoid lābha-pūjā-pratiṣṭhā like stool and urine.

In regards to the allegation of opening of a new sampradāya by him, we would like to say that—the sampradāya which was accepted by Śrīman Mahāprabhu (or The Prabhupāda) was not founded on the ground of falsity, rather the true sampradāya is rooted eternally upon śuddha-bhakti, undiluted or unadulterated. One who deviates from this pure current always try to add something new or like to subtract or like to dilute or like to  cover it—in this way he becomes an architect of a new sampradāya even while claiming to uphold the ancient one. Therefore, we humbly request you all to open your eyes. Look minutely and very carefully who is truly in line with the absolute siddhānta-vicāra of The Prabhupāda and Śrīman Mahāprabhu, and who is silently carving new new pathways (like underground tube railway line) in the way of devotional field. In this way all those new new so-called devotees or newcomers or we mean the future generations can get spoiled from the very beginning. The Prabhupāda said that— “The slightest deviation of pure guru-vaiṣṇavas can ultimately throw you far away from Hari-bhajan (the original track shown by our Guruvarga).” Please let this absolute conception get absolute stability inside your heart.

Anyway how can we expect some positive response from all those who already have put The Prabhupāda inside the graveyard long ago?

Actually we are simply messengers of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; our duty is only to deliver His teachings. If anyone has any objections regarding our unalloyed effort to project the Absolute truth without any compromise just like The Prabhupāda Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, then we would like to suggest him to approach the original advice given by Śrīman Mahāprabhu or Śrīla Vedavyāsa or Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī or Śrīla Saccidānanda Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura or Śrīla Prabhupāda Sarasvatī Ṭhākura etc.—our previous authentic mahājanas. Because from Mahābhārata we know the following very very important śloka to stop our argument that—

tarko ‘pratiṣṭhaḥ śrutayo vibhinnā

nāsāv ṛṣir yasya mataṁ na bhinnam

dharmasya tattvaṁ nihitaṁ guhāyāṁ

mahājano yena gataḥ sa panthāḥ                        (Vana-parva (313.117)

“Logical interpretation cannot stand in the way of that Absolute Truth. Those śrutis, smṛtis, etc. are going to represent The Absolute Truth in such a way that—it seems to be confusing for common people. One such ṛṣi cannot be found, whose opinion cannot differ from the others. The absolutely secret tattva of Bhāgavata-Dharma is hidden secretly out of the reach of all. Only we will have to pay full attention to the

way shown by our previous mahājanas.”

Gaudiya Gosthi Pati Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda also told that— "Pure items are rare and not easily attainable, and so are not much appreciated. Similarly, there is no respect for those who do not misguide people but are busy trying through saṅkīrtana and Hari-kathā to turn them toward the Lord. At present it is fashionable to be cheated by those who in the name of dharma misguide people. Real devotees do not speak to satisfy their audiences. They do not cheat people. Rather, pure devotees reveal the defects of cheaters who love to compromise. Only fortunate persons learn to be cautious after hearing the words of saints. Although the words of genuine devotees may appear to contradict our present taste and experience, nonetheless they are most auspicious for us." (from Śrīla Prabhupāder Upadeśāmṛta)

Despite our repeated appeals unto the Lotus feet of all those honourable present ācāryas in our sampradāya, none of them giving any response, all of them sitting silent, maybe out of fear or as a precautionary measure to avoid disturbance of their own business of self-interest, whereas Śrīla Bābā Mahārāja out of his honest intention wanted to serve the entire Sarasvata Gauḍīya Sampradāya without any smell of personal interest. Only he has come forward to clarify all those most sensitive and contradictory issues relating to either siddhānta-vicāra problem or sampradāyika dignity problem or Vaiṣṇava-nindā etc. etc. for the benefit of all those sincere seekers of The Absolute Truth.

Unfortunately we can see that always those envious persons cannot tolerate all his honest efforts. Absolute truth is always like a sharp edge of a razor. Those pure and absolute uncompromising siddhānta-vicāras shown by The Prabhupāda you can find in applied form of Śrīla Bābā Mahārāja. The Absolute truth is like “440 volts”, which is supposed to purify all those who are niṣkapaṭa (honest & sincere), but unbearable for all those who are kapaṭa—that is why criticism is a natural by-product of this absolute sevā.

Just as Mahātmā Vidura-jī was driven out of the royal assembly by the blind and arrogant Duryodhana (an aṁśa of Kali) for the only reason that Vidura-jī wanted to speak out all about the uncompromising truth for the sarva-maṅgala (the ultimate welfare) of the entire Kuru dynasty, similarly Śrīla Bābā Mahārāja has been facing all different kind of unexpected dirty criticism and rejection from all those who simply could not understand him and his absolute sacrifice to protect & preserve the absolute interest of the Sarasvata Gauḍīya Sampradāya as a whole. That is why at present Śrīla Bābā Mahārāja feeling it more practical to follow the principle of Vidura Ji—who left everything behind and went away peacefully for different holy pilgrimages (or parikramā of Viṣṇu kṣetras) when he was sure that nobody going to accept his absolute advices. Similarly he also like to enter into solitary bhajana (because he is habituated both in goṣṭhī-bhajana and solitary bhajana) leaving everything, but the instruction of The Prabhupāda cannot allow him to do so.

With a painful heart The Prabhupāda used to say— “Most possibly I have given tension to many of you. Most of you might have thought about me that I am your enemy, because I was obliged to speak the absolute truth to engage you all in unalloyed Hari-bhajana for the absolute benefit in the way of Hari-bhajana. I was bound to put you all in tension for your absolute benefit. I hope that those who are lucky enough among you all can surely understand this point today or tomorrow or in some life. I wanted to engage you all in unalloyed devotional service, so you misunderstood me.”

Thanks a lot

Truly yours in the service of Śrī Śrī Guru Gaurāṅga & Go-Mātā
