All glories to Śrī Śrī Guru-Gauranga
No Enmity – Only Solution (Part 1)
To save innocent people from misunderstanding Sri Gaudiya Math & Sarasvat Gaudiya Guruvarga

The most sensitive painful feeling of the editor on behalf of the whole Sarasvat Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava saṅga and Visva Vaiṣṇava Raja Saba
Gauḍīya Goṣṭhī Pati Śrī Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda Paramahaṁsa Jagadguru said that— “Why you are unnecessarily going to take trouble to get control over others? As an ācārya it is my duty to chastise them to rectify them, why you are running risk to get involved in such problems.”
Again to give us warning he used to say that— “From the feeling of superiority complex one can insult others.”
Also, we know that the ultimate teachings of Śrīmān Mahāprabhu is ‘tṛṇād api sunīcena bhava’, which means: to become qualified to sing the glories of Śrī Hari one should become humbler than the blade of grass and far more forbearing than a tree to give honour to others without expecting any honour for himself in return.
According to the first condition in the way of bhāgavata dharma, I cannot qualify, because of my extreme jealousy of śuddha Sarasvat Guru-Vaiṣṇavas.
All my countless ironical remarks against those śuddha Sarasvat Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas cannot prove that I am at all a Vaiṣṇava.
From Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam we know the following śloka—
dharmaḥ projjhita-kaitavo ’tra paramo nirmatsarāṇāṁ satāṁ
vedyaṁ vāstavam atra vastu śivadaṁ tāpa-trayonmūlanam
śrīmad-bhāgavate mahā-muni-kṛte kiṁ vā parair īśvaraḥ
sadyo hṛdy avarudhyate ’tra kṛtibhiḥ śuśrūṣubhis tat-kṣaṇāt (ŚB 1.1.2)
“Completely rejecting all religious activities which are materially motivated, this Bhāgavata Purāṇa propounds the highest truth, which is favourable for those devotees whose hearts are completely pure. The Absolute Truth in reality is distinguished from any illusion and meant for the welfare of all. Such truth uproots the threefold miseries. This beautiful Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, compiled by the great sage Vyāsadeva, is sufficient in itself for God realization. What is the need of any other scripture? As soon as one attentively and submissively hears the message of Bhāgavatam, by this culture of knowledge the Supreme Lord can get a seat inside heart instantly.”
Only and only for those ‘nirmatsarāṇāṁ satāṁ’ this bhāgavata dharma is suitable, not for others.
Śrīla Prabhupāda used to say that— “Vaiṣṇavas are our worshipable object, even more than Bhagavan Śrī Kṛṣṇa.” Because they are beyond any material limit, so we should never try to criticise them. Those pure Vaiṣṇavas are beyond our controlling power, we should never try to chastise them. If we try to get control over guru-Vaiṣṇava then this can cause us to fall down and we can become demons. This was the vichar of Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Śrīla Rāmānuja Ācārya the great Bhāgavata pārṣada said that: “If you fail to rectify your dirty character (or behaviour) then go in front of a sādhu Vaiṣṇava and just sit in front of him, and simply by watching his śuddha acharan you can change yourself. Keep company with the Vaiṣṇavas; supreme wisdom shall illuminate your heart and you will attain final beatitude. Avoid carefully the company of the enemies of Vaiṣṇavas, never talk with them.”
Within the list of those dangerous ten points of nāmāparādhis, sādhu nindā (criticism) is the most dangerous of all.
As per the standing order of Śrīla Prabhupāda we are bound to protest against those countless ironical remarks passed by your International Society in the form of publishing different books, writings and speeches etc., against Sarasvat Gauḍīya guru-varga and Gauḍīya Maṭha. Because Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura said that: “To become angry or to lose patience while Guru-Vaiṣṇavas are being insulted by someone is called bhakti. To keep silence in that case can make us fall down.” From Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 4th canto we know the fearful downfall of Dakṣa Prajāpati due to his great offence unto the Lotus feet of Vaiṣṇava Raj Śambhu. He was simply destroyed due to his great offence. The last teachings of Sati Devi before leaving her own body to erase the relationship with father Dakṣa Prajāpati are given below:
doṣān pareṣāṁ hi guṇeṣu sādhavo
gṛhṇanti kecin na bhavādṛśo dvija
guṇāṁś ca phalgūn bahulī-kariṣṇavo
mahattamās teṣv avidad bhavān agham (ŚB 4.4.12)
“Oh dwija! Some sādhu puruṣas accept bad qualities in others as good qualities, but a jealous personality like you find fault in other’s good qualities; those who discriminate between good and bad appropriately are intermediate devotees, but those who accept very insignificant qualities in others as great, they are high class Paramahaṁsa.”
nāścaryam etad yad asatsu sarvadā
mahad-vinindā kuṇapātma-vādiṣu
serṣyaṁ mahāpūruṣa-pāda-pāṁsubhir
nirasta-tejaḥsu tad eva śobhanam (ŚB 4.4.13)
“It is not astonishing or surprising for persons who have accepted the transient material body as the self to indulge always in deriding great souls. Such envy on the part of materialistic persons is very good because that is the way they fall down. They are diminished by the dust of the feet of great personalities.”
Though those Mahājanas can bear any amount of criticism (or insult) by any materialistic person, still the dust particles from the Lotus feet of those great Mahāpuruṣas cannot bear that criticism, so they are ready to destroy the effulgence of the criticizer. So, it is just fitting for an asat to develop enmity with a mahāt, because in this way they can get the appropriate punishment.
Sati Devi continued: “If one hears from the mouth of a very cruel dangerous person blasphemes about the master and controller of the whole religious principles, then one should block his ears and go away if unable to punish him. But if one is able to kill, then he should by force cut out the blasphemer’s tongue and kill the offender, and after that one should give up his own life.”
This is the dharma regarding the perfect attitude towards devotional service.
atas tavotpannam idaṁ kalevaraṁ
na dhārayiṣye śiti-kaṇṭha-garhiṇaḥ
jagdhasya mohād dhi viśuddhim andhaso
jugupsitasyoddharaṇaṁ pracakṣate (ŚB 4.4.18)
“Therefore, I shall no longer bear this unworthy body, which I have received from you, who have blasphemed Lord Śiva. By chance if someone has taken such a forbidden dirty food unknowingly which is contaminated, then the best treatment is to vomit it out.”
Even those great paṇḍits, they also speak that way about the solution. Even if Śaṅkara Śambhu himself going to do any vaiṣṇava aparādha, then surely, he will have to suffer for that. Śrīla Vṛndāvana das Ṭhākura Mahashaya has written this siddhānta vichar in Caitanya Bhāgavata.
Even as per the human rights commission’s rules and regulations this would be considered offence and even defamation. Since your International Society completely fails to give any answer to our questions already published in the book named “Shatruta noie samadhan”, published in the year of 2011, 19th march Gaura Pūrṇimā tithi to draw the kind attention of all the GBC members of your society, to find permanent solution to this unjustified and offensive accusation done by your society, now we are bound to publish this book “No enmity, only solution” on behalf of the whole Sarasvat Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava Saṅga and Visva Vaiṣṇava Raj Sabhā.
Gauḍīya Goṣṭhī Pati Śrī Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda Paramahaṁsa Jagadguru said that: “Until and unless one is 100% surrendered unto the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord, he cannot speak about that Absolute Truth.” So, to speak about that Absolute Truth one must stand on the absolute platform which is beyond maya. We know from Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta:
tomā sama ‘nirapekṣa’ nāhi mora gaṇe
‘nirapekṣa’ nāhile ‘dharma’ nā yāya rakṣaṇe (C.c. Antya 3.23)
You are the most neutral personality among My associates. This is very good on your part, for without being neutral one cannot protect religious principles.
‘jagadānanda priya āmāra nahe tomā haite
maryādā-laṅghana āmi nā pāroṅ sahite (C.c. Antya 4.166)
My dear Sanātana, please do not think that Jagadānanda is more dear to Me than you. However, I cannot tolerate transgressions of the standard etiquette.
maryādā-laṅghane loka kare upahāsa
iha-loka, para-loka — dui haya nāśa (C.c. Antya 4.131)
If one transgresses the laws of etiquette, people make fun of him, and thus he is vanquished in both this world and the next.
maryādā rākhile, tuṣṭa kaile mora mana
tumi aiche nā karile kare kon jana?” (C.c. Antya 4.132)
By observing the etiquette, you have satisfied Me. Who else but you could show this example?
Śrīmān Mahāprabhu speaking that— “I cannot bear the breakage of the dignity of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas at all by anybody.” This is the most sensitive bhava or feeling expressed by Śrīmān Mahāprabhu. So whenever such kind of false ego is visible in our Vaiṣṇava society and transgressivilly attacks the divine dignity of our immortal Sarasvat Gauḍīya guru-varga or Gauḍīya Maṭha, then and there, to control such absurd lack of etiquette, the strict rules and regulations left by Mahaprabhu himself have to be applied upon those sahajiyās, māyāvadis, karmis or wayward non-devotees (in the uniform of devotees) under the strict guidance of the Gauḍīya Vedantic Ācārya the sole authority of our whole Gauḍīya sampradāya—Śrī Svarūpa Gosai to control and cut those anarthas in our Gauḍīya bhajana field to protect and preserve the dignity of our sampradāya. So surely there cannot be any scope for you to become angry for that. Under the guidance of Śrī Śrīla Saccidananda Bhaktivinod Ṭhākura we can also identify ourselves as faithful dogs of our master (Gauḍīya guru-varga):
sarvasva tomār, caraṇe saḿpiyā, poḍechi tomāra ghare
tumi to’ ṭhākur, tomāra kukur, boliyā jānaho more (Śaraṇāgati kīrtana text 1)
Now that I have surrendered all I possess, I fall prostrate before Your outside gate. You are my Lord, kindly consider me as Your pet dog. You are my master and I am your faithful dog. This is my identity. Know it for sure.
Similarly, under the guidance of Śrīla Saccidananda Bhaktivinod Ṭhākura we cannot allow any aggression to disturb our Gauḍīya guru-varga (or Gauḍīya Maṭha), and cannot allow it to approach their vicinity to disturb them or to insult them, so we have taken resolution to defend our own sampradāik dignity by giving fitting answer to those antagonists.
Śrīla Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda said that: “Whenever any unqualified personality goes for preaching with the desire to establish a reconciliation technique to allow his personal fanciful mood to go ahead, he will eventually try to attack the right of bhāgavata bhaktas and will express audacity to announce (or blame) them (Guru-Vaiṣṇavas) as narrow minded, only to collect personal supporters. In that case, bewildered by the illusionary potency of Bhagavan, that jīva is only dancing like a fool upon the material platform and can only be seen as limited by his karma adhikār and as being an enjoyer of his own fruitive activities.” The audacity of Ramchandra Khan was not tolerated by Śrīmān Nityānanda Balaram or the audacity of Ramchandra Puri was not at all tolerated by Madhavendra Puripad or the audacity of Vallabha Ācārya was not at all tolerated by Śrīmān Mahāprabhu.
Even the soft advices that Jagadānanda Paṇḍit, the great Gaura pārṣada gave to Sanātana Gosvāmīpad, instructing him to go back to Śrī Dham Vṛndāvana after watching Ratha Yatra Festival were not at all tolerated by Śrīmān Mahāprabhu. Śrīmān Mahāprabhu told that: “Who is he to give advice to you, Sanātana, the most experienced, senior and exalted devotee?” This was the strict mood of Śrīmān Mahāprabhu. Śrīmān Mahāprabhu never tolerated any kind of disregard expressed by anyone to any exalted devotee to break his dignity. From Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta we can quote the expression of Śrīmān Mahāprabhu:
maryādā-laṅghane loka kare upahāsa
iha-loka, para-loka — dui haya nāśa (C.c. Antya 4.131)
If one transgresses the laws of etiquette, people make fun of him, and thus he is vanquished in both this world and the next.
That is the reason for why we are bound to publish this book under the guidance of Śrīla Prabhupāda Bhakti Siddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura to protect and preserve the dignity of our Sarasvat Gauḍīya Guruparamparā and Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha.
