The great confusion in the Gauḍīya devotional world regarding absolute siddhānta-vicāras, which all should be rectified immediately without any delay to stop further corruption

Gauḍīya Goṣṭhī Pati Śrī Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda Paramahaṁsa Jagad-guru said that – “Logical interpretation cannot stay in the way of that Absolute Truth.” Also very often he used to say that — “Siddhānta-vicāra is not like gymnastic feats, so that everybody can have free access into this field of siddhānta-vicāra.”

From the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta we know the following absolute siddhānta-vicāra that –

siddhānta baliyā citte nā kara alasa

ihā ha-ite kṛṣṇe lāge sudṛḍha mānasa              (CC Ādi 2.117)

Never try to show lethargy (indolence) attitude in the way of accepting absolute siddhānta-vicāra, because in this way one can develop very strong affinity of mind unto the lotus feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

All your random siddhānta-vicāras can prove that you are already out of the guru-paramparā system (or line). The great King Parīkṣit Mahārāja, who has been declared as mahā-bhāgavata inside the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam itself at least three or four times if not more — then how he can commit offence unto the lotus feet of Śāmika Ṛṣi at all? That is the most vital question in front of us. What are the symptoms prescribed in śāstra like the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam etc. about a mahā-bhāgavata – we must be aware of this point to avoid confusion in our devotional life which can invite complete destruction. From the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam we like to quote only one śloka for your kind information –

dehendriya-prāṇa-mano-dhiyo ’mī

yad-aṁśa-viddhāḥ pracaranti karmasu

naivānyadā lauham ivāprataptaṁ

sthāneṣu tad draṣṭrapadeśam eti                           (SB 6.16.24)

“As iron acquires the power to burn only when made incandescent in contact with fire, so likewise the body, senses, vital airs, mind, and intelligence—although merely lumps of inert matter—become animated in their functions only when suffused with a particle of consciousness bestowed by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As iron, bereft of fire, possesses no capacity to burn, so too the embodied faculties are utterly impotent apart from the gracious infusion of potency from the Supreme Brahman.”

dehendriya-prāṇa-mano-dhiyāṁ yo

janmāpyaya-kṣud-bhaya-tarṣa-kṛcchraiḥ

saṁsāra-dharmair avimuhyamānaḥ

smṛtyā harer bhāgavata-pradhānaḥ                     (SB 11.2.49)

“Within this material sphere, the gross body is ever subject to birth and dissolution. The vital air (prāṇa) is perpetually agitated by hunger and thirst; the mind is ceaselessly disturbed by anxieties; the intelligence covets objects never to be attained; and the senses, fatigued by their endless commerce with matter, are exhausted in perpetual struggle. He who, undeluded by such inevitable afflictions, remains detached from them through sole remembrance of the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead—such a one is verily to be honored as bhāgavata-pradhāna, the foremost among the Lord’s devotees.”

This is the most vital symptom of a divine mahā-bhāgavata personality like Śrīla Parīkṣit Mahārāja, about whom all rubbish wrong conception is going on, such as: he was very hungry and thirsty, so he lost his patience in the forest and, not getting any response from Śāmika Ṛṣi (who was in deep meditation at that time), he felt insulted by him. Thus, out of false ego, he insulted him by putting a dead snake around his neck.

But the most significant inner meaning of this strange behaviour by him — putting a dead snake around the neck of Śāmika Ṛṣi — is completely different from this kind of wrong assumption.Actually he himself was completely surprised to think about his own strange behaviour like that — what he had never done before in his whole life. Rather, he was always seen respectful to Guru, Vaiṣṇava, Bhagavān, ṛṣi, muni, etc. In fact he always used to take care of them and their interests.

Some foolish so-called devotees say that due to the presence of the golden crown on his head, Kali took advantage to enter into his head and break his rationality, because according to their estimation—by that time Kali was allowed by him (Śrīla Parīkṣit Mahārāja) to stay inside gold also. They are quoting the following evidence from the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam –

abhyarthitas tadā tasmai

sthānāni kalaye dadau

dyūtaṁ pānaṁ striyaḥ sūnā

yatrādharmaś catur-vidhaḥ                                (SB 1.17.38)

“Sūta Gosvāmī said: O Mahārāja Parīkṣit, being thus supplicated by the personification of Kali, the king granted him leave to dwell in those abodes wherein gambling, intoxication, illicit connection with women, and the slaughter of animals were indulged.”

punaś ca yācamānāya

jāta-rūpam adāt prabhuḥ

tato ’nṛtaṁ madaṁ kāmaṁ

rajo vairaṁ ca pañcamam                                     (SB 1.17.39)

“The personality of Kali, being unsated, solicited for further approval of some more flexible place to feel relaxed, and by his entreaty, the King at last accorded him dwelling in such a place where gold is hoarded—for verily, wherever gold abides, there also inevitably arise falsity, intoxication, lust, envy, and enmity.”

Whereas we know very clearly from the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam that he was a great mahā-bhāgavata —

sa vai mahā-bhāgavataḥ parīkṣid

yenāpavargākhyam adabhra-buddhiḥ

jñānena vaiyāsaki-śabditena

bheje khagendra-dhvaja-pāda-mūlam                     (SB 1.18.16)

“O Sūta Gosvāmī, please describe those topics of the Lord by which Mahārāja Parīkṣit, whose intelligence was fixed on liberation, attained the lotus feet of the Lord, who is the shelter of Garuḍa, the king of birds. Those topics were vibrated by the son of Vyāsa [Śrīla Śukadeva].”

Inside the head of any Mahā-Bhāgavata like Śrīla Parikśita Mahārāja, how can Kali enter simply because a golden crown was there on his head? This is nothing but only a mayavada vicara. What all happened in the last līlā of Śrīla Parikśita Mahārāja were all arranged by the Supreme Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa— His Yogamāyā. All authentic Gauḍīya commentators like Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravarttīpāda, etc. they all have drawn conclusion in this way which is supported by Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, Himself.

So this kind of incredible siddhānta-vicāra by these foolish people to support their unauthentic activities can never be accepted by any wise man in the Gauḍīya devotional field. So how can you compare Śrīla Svāmī Mahārāja with the great divine personality mahā-bhāgavata Śrīla Parīkṣit Mahārāja at all, like a blind man? What to speak of any kind of comparison — even in dream you should not think like that.

Catuḥsana – they are the ancient sons of Pitāmaha Brahmā, I mean they are the senior-most of all. In the beginning they all were busy concentrating their mind on the impersonal Brahman, but later on, by hearing the divine glories of the Supreme Lord, they were attracted unto the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord. So they took trouble to reach the Vaikuṇṭha gate to get darśana of the Supreme Lord. But it was the divine arrangement of the Supreme Lord (what He confessed later on) that somehow they were not allowed to get entry by the gate-men of Vaikuṇṭha-loka, Jaya and Vijaya. So as a result both of them were cursed by the Catuḥsana to take birth on this earth with negative mood to fight with the Supreme Lord. Both of them took birth consecutively three times: first in the name of Hiraṇyākṣa–Hiraṇyakaśipu, second time in the name of Rāvaṇa–Kumbhakarṇa, third time Śiśupāla–Dantavakra.

etau suretara-gatiṁ pratipadya sadyaḥ

saṁrambha-sambhṛta-samādhy-anubaddha-yogau

bhūyaḥ sakāśam upayāsyata āśu yo vaḥ

śāpo mayaiva nimitas tad aveta viprāḥ                                        (SB 3.16.26)

“The Lord replied: O brāhmaṇas, know that the punishment you inflicted on them was originally ordained by Me, and therefore they will fall to a birth in a demoniac family. But they will be firmly united with Me in thought through mental concentration intensified by anger, and they will return to My presence shortly.”

So without going into long discussion we can safely say that – Jaya and Vijaya have not done any offence unto the lotus feet of those Catuḥsanas, or in another way we can safely say that the curse or punishment (?) by Catuḥsana was nothing but one kind of līlā, because they can never become angry under any circumstances. So you will have to put water into the glowing fire of your wrong siddhānta-vicāras which you use to support all the offences done by Śrīla Svāmī Mahārāja, to prove that he has done nothing wrong — only līlā.
